The Foundation initiated the money management program to provide oversight and training for volunteers who help with budgeting, bill paying and other financial services for elderly persons in need of assistance, but not full guardianship. Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio was selected as the agency to manage the program, which used a model created by the American Association of Retired Persons, to assist the elderly and fail manage their finances and reduce their likelihood to be financially exploited. A total of $1,011,500 was dedicated to this program over the course of eleven years.
