We believe that profound good:
Has many foundations.
Needs all hands on deck.
Is right in our own backyard.
Is transformative.
How did we get our name?
The Kronkosky legacy began when Albert Kronkosky, Sr. and his family first settled in New Braunfels in 1850 then relocated to San Antonio in 1885. The family’s wealth was based on interests in the Gebhardt Food Company, the San Antonio Drug Company, and Merck & Company.
Albert, Jr. and Bessie Mae Kronkosky, who established the foundation in their wills, were known to have lived simply, without ostentation, and gave generously (often anonymously) to the city and surrounding communities they loved.
